CHURCHILL ARRIVED AT PORTSMOUTH TODAY AT THE END OF HER MAIDEN FOREIGN VOYAGE, ONE OF THE MANY CRAFT THERE TO WELCOME THE SHIP WAS THE 64 YEAR OLD VOSPER BUILT AND DESIGNED MTB 102. FAMOUS FOR ITS ROLE AS THE PLATFORM USED TO CARRY THE US NAVY SHIP'S NAMESAKE WINSTON CHURCHILL AND GENERAL EISENHOWER ON THEIR INSPECTION OF THE D-DAY FLEET IN 1944, FOR ITS PART IN THE MOVIE, 'THE EAGLE HAS LANDED' AND AS A SEA SCOT TRAINING VESSEL, 102 WAS THE PROTOTYPE DESIGN FOR THE MAJORITY OF WWII BRITISH MTB'S.
